The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone looking for stable, flexible employment while contributing to a meaningful cause.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and statements
  • Monitor budgets, track expenditure, and manage funding allocations
  • Oversee payroll, superannuation, BAS, and ATO compliance
  • Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records in accounting software (Xero or MYOB)
  • Ensure financial and funding compliance under NDIS and other regulations
  • Provide financial advice to management regarding efficiency, risk, and compliance
  • Assist with audits and reporting to regulatory bodies and funders

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
  • Proficient in MYOB, Xero, or similar accounting platforms
  • Sound knowledge of Australian taxation, payroll, and financial legislation
  • Experience in the NDIS or community services sector (highly regarded)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and time management abilities
  • Australian working rights
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
