The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team on a permanent part-time basis. This role is ideal for someone looking for stable, flexible employment while contributing to a meaningful cause.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and statements
- Monitor budgets, track expenditure, and manage funding allocations
- Oversee payroll, superannuation, BAS, and ATO compliance
- Handle accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records in accounting software (Xero or MYOB)
- Ensure financial and funding compliance under NDIS and other regulations
- Provide financial advice to management regarding efficiency, risk, and compliance
- Assist with audits and reporting to regulatory bodies and funders
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar accounting role
- Proficient in MYOB, Xero, or similar accounting platforms
- Sound knowledge of Australian taxation, payroll, and financial legislation
- Experience in the NDIS or community services sector (highly regarded)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and time management abilities
- Australian working rights
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
